Our stay at Convento San Bartolomeo was the highlight of our 6-day trip to Tuscany! Staying at this historic building is an experience of its own. We would like to take this opportunity and congratulate the owner and the employees of this hotel for doing such an amazing job. The restoration is spotless and made with respect to the building's identity but also with modern touches when necessary. You can tell that everything is done here with love and respect for the cultural history of the place. At the same time, the guests are welcome to enjoy every corner of the Convento. Last but not least, the service provided to the guests is exceptional! Delicious breakfast, dinner in the best room one can imagine, and a heated swimming pool and jacuzzi which was the cherry on top of an exceptional stay!

We booked two nights at the Convent but ended up staying three, and if we didn’t have to leave, we would have gladly extended our stay… that’s how much we loved it! It is such a unique, historic place, in a fantastic setting and the people working there are very nice and accommodating; Mariana, the owner, was so informative and very approachable, she personally gave us the tour and always made sure we’re had a memorable experience. Breakfast was great, with local local produce and our 4-course dinners were delicious, home made and very affordable (thank you chef Olympia). Overall, I highly recommended this unique accommodation if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing place to disconnect.

The most beautiful place!! We felt absolute peace, relaxation and carefree. It was a journey through time both in the convento , in Piancastagnaio and the medieval cities around the area. We wish we could visit again. The staff was very kind and helpful. We also met the owners who were very friendly , they suggested nearby destinations and arranged a tour at vineyard with tasting. Also, the food was very delicious. The breakfast had varieties and the dinner was very tasty. Another amazing feature was the pool and the hot tub with the amazing view!!! This place is perfect if you desire an romantic escape from your everyday routine and anxiety.

One feels humbled by this historic place which were renovated very carefully and thoughtfully. Also, the garden is beautiful. It is a unique experience which I would very much recommend. The staff is also very kind and treat you like family. I also recommend to have dinner here. Thank you!!
